How QuxPerks makes money

Free for startups

Founders never pay QuxPerks. Browsing, saving offers and requesting partner perks are free, with no paid tier and no trial that runs out.

Commissions

Some partners run affiliate or referral programs: when you sign up through our link, they pay us. Every offer whose “Get this offer” button goes through a paid link is labelled Affiliate link, and the same sentence sits right beside the button. Most offers in the directory pay us nothing; they are listed because they are worth having.

The ranking rule

Lists are ordered by what an offer is worth to a founder (its largest stated dollar value), then alphabetically by partner and program. Whether an offer pays us is never part of that order — it is not in the query that sorts the list, and an automated test fails the build if it ever is. We do not take payment for placement, and an offer that pays us is not listed ahead of one that does not.

Our own products

QuxPerks is made by the team behind QuxKit, and the directory lists QuxKit’s own products, such as QuxCloud. Every one of them carries a “From the team behind QuxPerks” badge, on the list and on its page. They are ranked by exactly the same rule as every other offer, with no boost.

Partner perks: QuxPerks as your accelerator

Some of the best perks are only given through an accelerator partner. Where QuxPerks has been approved as that partner, members of the QuxPerks Cohort or Accelerator can request the perk through us. Staff review each request against the startup profile you keep on QuxPerks — partners judge us by the companies we send, so we only vouch for startups that meet the partner's criteria. If approved, the code, org id or link appears on your Perk requests page. Where we have not secured a partnership, the offer says so plainly, and we never imply otherwise.

What data we keep

• Analytics without cookies. We count page views and a few events (viewing an offer, clicking “Get this offer”) with first-party analytics on our own database. No analytics cookie is set, no third party receives the data, and visitors are counted by a salted hash whose salt changes monthly and is then deleted, so nobody — including us — can follow one visitor over time.
• Click ids. Each “Get this offer” click is logged with a random click id, the offer, and — if you are signed in — your startup. For affiliate links that id is passed to the partner's network so a commission can be credited. It is not linked to your identity outside QuxPerks.
• Your account. Your email, a password hash, your sessions, and the startup profile, saved offers and perk requests you create. Your startup's data is isolated from every other startup's.
• Reports. When you report a problem with an offer we keep the report, and who sent it if you were signed in.

Accuracy

Every offer links to the partner's own page and shows when we last checked it. Partners change their terms; the partner's page always wins over our summary. If something is out of date, use “Report a problem” on the offer.
